Bake Me Treats: A Sweet Haven in Salem

To celebrate Chocolate Macaron Day, we took a trip to Bake Me Treats at Courtyard Square in Salem, Ohio.

This charming bakery, originally established in Poland, Ohio, has recently expanded to Salem, bringing its unique flavors and inviting atmosphere to a broader audience.

It has been great to see the development of the Courtyard Square space in downtown Salem and Bake Me Treats is certainly a sweet addition.

Although we didn’t get any chocolate macarons on this visit (because admittedly, I thought it was just "National Macaron Day"-- LOL), a common misconception is that "macarons" are pronounced "macaroons."

Macaroons vs. Macarons

Macarons are delicate French pastries made with almond flour, egg whites, and sugar, filled with ganache, buttercream, or jam.

They are a true culinary art form and a fan favorite item at Bake Me Treats. Trust us, it’s worth doing a little research to appreciate these delightful treats!

Bake Me Treats was founded by Gabriele Broker in December 2015. Gabriele honed her skills working at a French patisserie in Pittsburgh and an American-style bakery in Columbus before returning to her roots to open her own bakery.
