National Chocolate Ice Cream Day

By: Haley Rozeski

What better way to celebrate National Chocolate Ice Cream Day than at a local favorite, Handel's Ice Cream?! Macey and I both grew up going to Handel’s and thought it would be the best spot for this holiday. It was the perfect excuse to indulge in everyone's favorite ice cream shop. Handel’s has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike.

Despite the bustling summer crowds, the experience is well worth the wait. On this special day, we treated ourselves to generous scoops of their chocolate ice cream. However, chocolate is just the beginning. They have an impressive array of flavors to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. From classic vanilla and chocolate to unique offerings like my personal favorite, grape, there’s something for everyone.

Handel’s Ice Cream has deep roots in Northeast Ohio. With locations scattered, ensuring that no matter where you are in NEO, and even other states, there’s probably a Handel’s right around the corner. Handel’s was founded in 1945, with its original location in Youngstown. The rich history adds a layer of nostalgia and pride for local patrons who have enjoyed Handel’s Ice Cream for generations.

Whether you’re a chocolate enthusiast or a fan of more adventurous flavors, make sure to visit Handel’s and celebrate the sweet joys of National Chocolate Ice Cream Day.
